I’m going to keep this relatively short and sweet, but I’ve gotta give props where props are due.
You’ve no doubt seen the ads. You’ve done some searches for “how to make money working from home,” “work for stay-at-home-moms,” “work from my laptop,” etc…and I’d be hard-pressed to believe that you haven’t seen some kind of a post about Wealthy Affiliate resulting from those searches. You may or may not have even read one of them.
I, myself, had seen quite a few posts about Wealthy Affiliate and didn’t bother reading any of them. (I was doing some searches at the time for my sister who is a SAHM and was interested in some extra income opportunities.) Then something struck me one day and I finally read one of the posts–and it actually sounded really cool.
It wasn’t JUST about affiliate marketing, like I presumed it was. I had read here and there about being an affiliate for whatever product, and I figured by the name that this was just more of the same. Boy, was I wrong!
I read into Wealthy Affiliate quite a bit and I realized that it is a platform where I could actually get an education in not only affiliate marketing, but in building a WordPress website! I’d tinkered here and there with some website stuff before but I was still well below novice level. I had even started *at least* 4 different WordPress (.com) blogs over the years, none of which lasted for very long.
But this is an entirely different thing. There are training courses that you can take to learn the WordPress (.org) platform, even if you are a beginner! Click here for a great guide by WPBeginner to see the differences between WordPress.org and WordPress.com…but my own very quick explanation is that WordPress.com will work just fine if you want to write a blog and don’t want much customization or control, whereas WordPress.org is the one where you will need to set up hosting but it’s more in-depth and you have much more control over your website. I’m not going to say one is better than the other for you, but WordPress.org is the one that fit what I needed.
One of the great things about Wealthy Affiliate, though–if you end up signing up for the premium account, then they host the websites for you! You can actually have up to 50 websites hosted, 25 of which can be your own domain name!! That value alone is fantastic. And combined with the education that is available to you in how to build a website in whatever niche you like (affiliate or not), the value is absolutely beyond compare.
I signed up for the Premium account, and I haven’t looked back. You can start month-to-month and cancel any time if it’s not for you. If you’re lucky, they’ll offer another Black Friday deal with a big discount for signing up for a year.
The cool thing is that you can have a 7-day free trial without even having to give your credit card info. You can use this time to dig around the site and see if it is an investment you would like to make in yourself. If it’s not, then no harm, no foul; you don’t have to pay a dime!
I HIGHLY recommend checking it out! However–I also HIGHLY recommend NOT doing it until you are serious and will commit some time every day to learning, because those seven days will go by very quickly.
But you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying it out. There is a vast community awaiting you, of all different levels–lots of beginners, and lots of well-seasoned members whose lives have changed due to this wonderful platform.
(Personal side note: I am still a relative beginner in the world of website creation, as my time tends to be spent elsewhere–but I just wanted to let you know that I built this very website by using the Wealthy Affiliate platform and the education I’ve gotten so far from their valuable training videos. It is something I am quite proud of, because I came into it knowing nothing. I couldn’t do much more than a drag-and-drop Weebly blog before…and look at me now! I still have a lot to learn, but I am so grateful for my accomplishments thus far and I can’t wait to take it even further.)
The only warning I want to give you is to let you know that this is not magic, and it is definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme. You must be willing to put in the work and follow the training courses–otherwise it will be a waste of money for you. But if you have drive and an eagerness to learn, and you have just been waiting for the right opportunity to learn it at your own pace–then you owe it to yourself to give Wealthy Affiliate a shot.
